Explore Butte County is currently accepting nominations for all advisory positions. The bylaws of the Board were updated 11/11/2021 and limit the number of advisors to two (2) times the number of voting Board members. Limitations on representation per jurisdiction have been removed and the Nominating Committee will consider all nominees to ensure there is reasonable representation for all participating jurisdictions. Please see the table below for current advisors and corresponding jurisdiction representation. All positions serve one (1) year terms and expire at the March 10, 2022 meeting.

Bylaw Criteria to become an Advisor to the Board:
The Board may designate individuals to serve as advisors to the Board. Advisors will receive notice of meeting in the same manner as Directors but will not be considered Directors for any purpose including voting.
Advisors shall serve a term of one (1) year and may be removed by the Board at any time. Advisors shall be voted on by the Board of Directors at the annual meeting. Advisors will be a representative from their place of business’ location or from their service area. Advisors shall be removed from their position by missing three (3) consecutive regular meetings; they can send a representative in their stead. There shall be no more than two (2) times the total number of voting board members serving as Advisors to the Board. The Nominating Committee will ensure there is a reasonable representation from the participating jurisdictions. Advisors may be called upon if a vacancy occurs on the Board of Directors.
