Five Mile Recreation Area

The Five Mile Recre­ation Area is a pop­u­lar spot for large group gath­er­ings, offer­ing vis­i­tors plen­ty of open space, pic­nic tables, and barbecues.

Sit­u­at­ed on the south­east end of the recre­ation area, the Five Mile East pic­nic site pro­vides a scenic set­ting just a short walk from Big Chico Creek. This spe­cif­ic site is well-equipped for events and features:

• Ample Seat­ing: Accom­mo­dates up to 50 peo­ple across sev­en pic­nic tables.
• Out­door Cook­ing: One large BBQ (key required for access) and four small BBQs.
• Con­ve­nience: Includes a prepa­ra­tion table, drink­ing foun­tain, and near­by restrooms.

Five Mile is also a great spot to cool off in a Big Chico creek swim­ming hole. Fam­i­lies with small chil­dren will par­tic­u­lar­ly enjoy the shal­low and calm waters here.
