Locat­ed in Down­town Chico, The Break­beat is an immer­sive per­for­mance venue where music, light­ing, and dig­i­tal art func­tion as a sin­gle expe­ri­ence. It’s the first venue in the world to fea­ture a cus­tom-designed L‑Acoustics DJ spa­tial audio system.

The Break­beat fea­tures min­i­mal­ist walls that work in tan­dem with inte­grat­ed lasers, pro­jec­tion map­ping, and advanced pro­duc­tion tech­nol­o­gy. The result­ing envi­ron­ment trans­forms every per­for­mance into a rich, three-dimen­sion­al audio­vi­su­al event.

At the cen­ter of this tech-for­ward venue is a spa­tial audio sys­tem devel­oped by L‑Acoustics. Designed in part­ner­ship with the pro­duc­tion spe­cial­ists at Brown Note Pro­duc­tions, this cus­tom con­fig­u­ra­tion makes the Chico venue a glob­al first for this spe­cif­ic technology.

From acoustic folk to elec­tron­ic sets, the spa­tial audio set­up sur­rounds the room to place the audi­ence direct­ly inside the music rather than sim­ply in front of a stage, and the design deliv­ers clean, clear sound, max­i­miz­ing the nuance of phys­i­cal instru­ments and dig­i­tal beats alike.
