Consideration of a Resolution of Intent to Modify the Butte County Tourism Business Improvement District (BCTBID) Management District Plan

The Butte County Board of Supervisors will consider a Resolution of Intent to Modify the Butte County Tourism Business Improvement District on Tuesday, May 13.

What are the Proposed Changes?

The proposed modifications to the BCTBID include:

  • Expanded Participation: All lodging businesses and short-term rentals within Butte County will be included regardless of room count.

  • Assessment Rate Adjustment: The current 2% assessment on gross short-term room rental revenue will increase to 2.5% on September 1, 2025, and to 3% on January 1, 2027. These changes follow the authorized limits already included in the current Management District Plan.

  • Term Adjustment: The term of the BCTBID will be updated to run through December 31, 2029, rather than November 30, 2030.

These proposed changes from the Butte County Tourism Business Improvement District (BCTBID) Owners’ Association, the Explore Butte County Board of Directors, reflect Explore Butte County’s commitment to equitable participation and sustained investment in growing overnight stays through destination promotion and infrastructure development.
