How and Where We'll Use Your Photos

Explore Butte County (EBC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting travel and tourism to Butte County. We rely on a network of partners and supporters to tell the story of the area in accurate and compelling ways.

A key partner is a local or visitor to Butte County who share their experiences through social media. Our organization cannot begin to capture all that there is to know about and do across the county, so we rely on others’ willingness to give us sharing permissions for their work.

Most commonly, we will ask for the following usage rights from users with public social media profiles:

This permission grants Explore Butte County:

the right to use the image(s) with attribution on Explore Butte County’s website, in a gallery, as a single-photo embed within a story (examples below), or as a story header photo.

This permission grants Explore Butte County:

The rights included in the “Website Galleries/Embeds” permission, and
the right to use the image(s) with attribution on any of its owned social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.

This permission grants Explore Butte County:

The rights included in the “Website Galleries/Embeds” and “Social Channels” permissions, and
the right to use the image(s) with attribution in any of its digital or printed marketing materials used to promote and/or increase awareness of Butte County, including but not limited to its printed Visitor Guide, digital newsletter, rack cards, social media advertising campaigns, TV advertising, etc.

Explore Butte County will not:

Sell your image to 3rd parties
Give permission to 3rd parties to use your photo
Use your photo in any money-making projects

For special projects/uses that require the original high-resolution photo, Explore Butte County will request additional permission that will include compensation and a signed contract. Special projects/uses can include, but are not limited to:
