The Chico Creek Nature Cen­ter is the offi­cial infor­ma­tion and edu­ca­tion cen­ter for Bid­well Park in Chico.

Shar­ing the Won­der of Bid­well Park

As the offi­cial Vis­i­tor Cen­ter for the park, the Nature Cen­ter offers the pub­lic a vari­ety of resources, includ­ing: park maps and direc­tions, guid­ed walks, fam­i­ly pro­grams, camps and a chance to meet a col­lec­tion of liv­ing ani­mals. They are also a resource for region­al schools pro­vid­ing many stan­dards aligned field trip options and pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment pro­grams includ­ing Project WILD and Project Learn­ing Tree for teach­ers and infor­mal edu­ca­tors alike. The Cen­ter also affords many vol­un­teer oppor­tu­ni­ties to the com­mu­ni­ty as well as intern­ships for local col­lege students.

The Chico Creek Nature Cen­ter prop­er­ty also fea­tures a native plant gar­den, a red­wood grove with trees to climb, a nat­ur­al teeter tot­ter and fan­tas­tic area for fort build­ing, and a prime loca­tion just a minute from Chico Creek in Bid­well Park.

Liv­ing Ani­mal Museum

Locat­ed in the main build­ing, the Janeece Web Liv­ing Ani­mal Muse­um and Nature Play Room (LAM) fea­tures a nature play­room with books and toys, a small climb­ing wall, and the home of liv­ing ani­mals such as bun­nies, tur­tles, tor­tois­es, hawks, snakes, frogs, lizards, and more!
