Locat­ed at the south end of Lake Oroville, Loafer Creek Recre­ation Area has 137 tent camp­sites, each with park­ing, a table and a cook­ing stove. The facil­i­ty also includes a boat launch, restrooms, coin-oper­at­ed show­ers, drink­ing water, swim­ming, group sites, a dump sta­tion, and eques­tri­an and hik­ing trails. Trail­ers up to 31 feet and RVs up to 40 feet are wel­come. There are no hookups at Loafer Creek, how­ev­er, san­i­ta­tion sta­tions are available.

Dogs allowed on leash. Check-in is at 2:00 pm and check-out is noon. Make your reser­va­tion today.

Loafer Creek Eques­tri­an Campground

At the Loafer Creek Recre­ation Area, the Loafer Creek Eques­tri­an Camp­ground is one of the finest of its kind in the region. Locat­ed on the south­east side of the lake, the eques­tri­an camp­ground fea­tures 15 camp­sites des­ig­nat­ed for eques­tri­an use, with each site able to accom­mo­date 8 peo­ple, 2 hors­es, and 2 vehi­cles. Large groups can reserve more than one site.

Avail­able year-round, reser­va­tions are nor­mal­ly avail­able for camp­ing dates from April 1 to Octo­ber 15, up to 6 months in advance of arrival date. Oth­er times of year are first-come, first-served.
